Abstract

Dental implants are widely used for replacing missing tooth. Recently, the increase of implant treatment has led to an increase in displacement of implants in the maxillary sinus during implant surgery. Displaced implants in maxillary sinus can cause several complications, therefore early removal is required. This study is to report the diagnosis and treatment about two cases of patients who visited our department for removal of the displacement of implant fixtures in the maxillary sinus during implant installation. Lateral window approach was performed to removal of the fixtures displaced to maxillary sinus. Successful removal of implant fixture can be observed in post-operative panoramic radiographs.
